Composition head with highly-detailed sculpting of hair and facial features to create an exacting likeness of the pioneer aviator,brown hair brushed to the side in deep waves,intaglio sculpted small blue eyes,sculpted brows with furrowed lines,strong nose,closed mouth modeled in a wide smile with a row of beaming teeth,dimpled chin,muslin stitch- jointed body with faux-feet hidden by leather boots,composition gloved hands. Condition: very good,original finish well-preserved,costume original. Marks: c. Regal Doll. Comments: uniquely-sculpted model for this doll only,probably by Ernesto Peruggi for Regal,the doll was created to commemorate Lindbergh's 1927 "Spirit of St. Louis"flight from New York to Paris. Value Points: very rare doll with superb sculpting,original finish,and wearing his original aviator costume with added photographic pin and the words "Our Hero,Capt. Ca. Lindbergh".
