An 1821 French Miniature Paper Doll Book "Les Metamorphoses D'Auguste"

A miniature book,5" x 3.5",with rich silk-like cover,recounts the story of young Auguste in six chapters,each entailing the need of a different costume for Auguste. In an envelope incorporated into the book is a heavy cardboard card with an engraved figure of Auguste,along with six different one-piece costumes that correspond to the various stories; the original slipcase is also included. Published in Paris,1821,by Chez Nepveu,Passage des Panorama No.26. Doll is uncut,and costumes are complete and excellent. Book covers,spine and slipcase are worn. France,1821.
