Pressed bisque swivel head on kid- edged bisque shoulder plate,plump modeling of cheeks and chin,amber brown glass enamel inset eyes with spiral threading,dark eyeliner,delicately painted lashes and feathered brows,rose blushed eye shadow,delicate blush on cheeks,chin and pierced ears,accented nostrils and eye corners,closed mouth with delicately accented lips,lambswool wig over cork pate,kid bebe body from Bru patent with gusset jointing,bisque forearms and hands. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 2 (head and shoulders) Bebe Brevete SGDG Paris (torso). Comments: Leon Casimir Bru,circa 1878,his first period bebe known as Bebe Brevete. Value Points: the beauty and delicacy of this early period bebe is enhanced by the superb state of preservation,with choice bisque of head and hands,exceptionally sturdy body,original costume of silk and brocade,with original undergarments,maroon knit stockings,leather shoes signed B (script) and white wool pressed bonnet with maroon silk lining,ribbon and feather.
