Bisque socket head,large brown glass sleep eyes,dark eyeliner,painted lashes,brush-stroked and feathered brows,accented nostrils and eye corners,open mouth,four porcelain teeth,pierced ears,black human hair wig in original stiffened coiffure,composition and wooden ball-jointed body with custom wooden extensions for the ankles to accommodate to stacked heels. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 1894 AM 8 dep Made in Germany. Comments: for the French market,AM 1894 model was designed almost exclusively for that market. A note attached to the doll indicates the name and history of its original 1894 costume. Value Points: the unique doll is amazingly preserved with brilliant fresh colors and detail,being the costume of a Japanese bride according to the note,with four layers of silk costume each lavishly embroidered and trimmed,silk slippers with attached wooden stacking heels,superb coiffe with hand-painted butterflies and flowers and with glass bead fringe onto her face,accessories including hanging mirror with embroidered frame,tassels,and a superb original wooden stand with silk embroidered cover.
