All-cloth doll with pressed molded face, painted complexion and features, shaded blue eyes, thick dark upper eyeliner, painted lashes, feathered brows, closed mouth with row of painted teeth, brunette human hair wig, stitched-on original muslin cap, muslin stitch-jointed body with oil-painted lower arms and legs, bare feet, antique dress, pinafore, undergarments. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: (Rollinson red stamp on back torso). Comments: Gertrude Rollinson, inventor and patent holder of the distinctive cloth doll, produced by the Utley company of Holyoke, Massachusetts, circa 1920. Value Points: very artistic painting of the rare doll, few examples exist and virtually none in this fine state of preservation; the wigged variation is especially rare.
