American Mechanical Carved Circus Parade Wagon in the Schoenhut Manner

17" (43 cm.) x 18". The wooden circus parade wagon with red paint accented with rich gilt details of carved crest, medallions and columns is arranged upon a wooden platform with hidden electrified mechanism beneath. Inside are three white paper mache polar bears, the larger with a bellows neck, and when activated, the large polar bear moves his side to side. Excellent condition. The parade wagon is highly suggestive of Schoenhut with likely commissioned mechanical presentation by Schoenhut or other artisan. Circa 1915.
