Oil painting on canvas depicting a brown-haired girl wearing a white dress with ruffled collar of broderie Anglaise, and with dainty feathering of curls at the top of her forehead. In original gilt wooden frame with framer's mark, and signed in red by the artist "Daniels 1877". Excellent condition. Anson Daniels of Medway, Massachusetts (1813-1884), the 19th century New England artist/poet, "a man of broad and generous culture" according to documents in the Medway Historical Society, was known especially for his portrait work.
