American Porcelain Doll "Amy" by Martha Thompson

19" (48 cm.) Porcelain shoulderhead with very slender youthful face, blonde hair drawn from face into a cluster of ringlet curls at the back, with black hair band decorated with Dresden roses, blue glass inset eyes, painted lashes and brows, closed mouth, cloth body, porcelain lower arms and legs, painted white stockings and pink ankle boots with black spats. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 52 Amy MDT. Comments: Martha Thompson, 1952 from the series of Little Women dolls. Value Points: especially sweet expression and well-sculpted hair with Dresden rose ornamentation. The doll was acquired by its present owner nearly 60 years ago from Mrs. Yeske and has remained in her possession until now.
