American Wooden "Arab Chief" from Schoenhut's Teddy's Adventures in Africa Series

8" (20 cm.) All wooden figure with brown complexion, thick black painted brows, black fuzzy beard and sideburns, jointing at shoulders and hips, painted sandals. Condition: generally excellent, some spotting of costume. Comments: Arab Chief, circa 1909, from Teddy's Adventures in Africa series. Value Points: wearing original white muslin tunic over pants, with red hooded burnoose, wound turban over cap and with cartridge belt with sword and rifle, the Arab Chief is considered one of the rarest characters from the short-lived Safari set.
