All-wooden figure with swivel two-part head, jointing at shoulders and hips and additional jointing at elbows and knees, painted short brown hair in side-part, painted brown eyes, closed mouth, wearing linen pants and jacket, shirt, tie, and painted white shoes. Condition: generally excellent, costume spotted and dusty. Comments: Schoenhut, a mystery or prototype character, according to Ackerman, in her book Under The Big Top, page 120, circa 1909 from Schoenhut's Teddy's Adventures in Africa series. Value Points: very rare character with knee and elbow jointing, original painting including rare white shoes, all-original costume.
