A Catalogued Antique Doll Auction "A Time for Gratitude"
Sunday, November 13, 2016 at the Westin Hotel, Annapolis, Maryland
Preview 9 AM. Auction 11 AM. To be followed immediately by Discovery Day auction.
The end of each year seems a time of reflection, of gratitude for family and good friends and all that is fortunate in our lives. Beginning with the quintessential American holiday - Thanksgiving - a giving of thanks - and continuing with days and weeks of community, sharing, and gratitude, it is, too, the time to rekindle our sense of history. How perfect, then, is an auction of antique dolls, those memorable links to childhood past. Theriault's merrily presents - with gratitude for another year in the company of fine friends and precious treasures - our annual holiday antique doll auction. Order catalog here.

Bountiful treasures, all from private collections, include gorgeous French bébés and poupées from the Rose collection of Wichita, Kansas, precious early German dolls, rare German bisque art character dolls, a fine collection of Lenci dolls from the 1920s and 1930s from the estate of Mary Hamilton, a choice collection of American dolls by Schoenhut from a private Connecticut collection (including the singular Japanese Schoenhut, ex-Mary Merritt Museum), early teddy bears, fine paper dolls from the estate of Marta Krebs, antique doll furnishings, antique miniature silver, early dollhouse dolls, and hundreds more of the choicest childhood treasures from the past.
The cataloged auction of nearly 300 lots will be followed immediately by a Discovery Day auction of another 150 lots. We hope you will join us for this pre-holiday auction day.
And be sure to include a visit to one of America's most historic little cities. Annapolis was the first capital of the United States in 1783, and its winding city streets and historic landmarks make it one of the America's most treasured small cities. Plan to come a day early to visit Annapolis, the US Naval Academy, City Dock, and one of the finest concentrations of 18th century buildings in America. Learn more at www.visitannapolis.org.
