Standing upon a velvet covered wooden base that contains clockwork mechanism is a bisque headed lady with large brown glass paperweight inset eyes,painted lashes and brows,accented nostrils and eye corners,closed mouth with accented lips,pierced ears,bisque shoulderplate,shapely torso,paper mache legs,wire upper arms,bisque forearms. When wound,the lady turns her head from side to side,and alternately lifts her lorgnette and her fan. Condition: generally excellent,mechanism and music function well. Marks: Depose Tete Jumeau Bte SGDG 1 (head). "La Chasse des Princes" (name of music,paper label under base). Comments: Roullet & Decamps,circa 1890. Value Points: superbly preserved original condition,the automaton lady wears her original burgundy silk fitted dress,stockings and silk tied short,straw bonnet,burgundy earrings,and carries elaborately trimmed silk covered fan,and ornate gilt ormulu fan.
