Beautiful French Bisque Poupee with Boutique Label and Superb Couturier Costume

Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, almond-shaped blue glass spiral-threaded eyes, rose-blushed eyeshadow, arched feathered brows, painted lashes, accented nostrils, closed mouth, accented lips, pierced ears, auburn mohair wig over cork pate, kid poupee body with shapely torso, gusset-jointing at elbows, hips and knees. Condition: generally excellent, Marks: A La Recompense/Nadaud Jouets 32 Rue du 4 Septembre (boutique stamp on torso). Comments: French, circa 1875, the prestige doll shop, located just next to Place de l'Opera was established in 1861, and in their 1875 advertising noted a "separate workshop for making trousseaux". Value Points: very beautiful face with subtle blushing, superb original couturier costume with extended train, undergarments, boots, jewelry.
