Comments: French, circa 1870, the luxury shop of A La Galerie Vivienne was established by Pierre Guillard in 1830 as a corset shop until its acquisition by Remond in 1867 when dolls and toys became its theme. Judging by the luxury quality of this doll, and other dolls and toys with the Galerie Vivienne label which are shown in Theimer's The Encyclopedia of French Dolls, the shop presented only playthings of the most luxurious manner. Value Points: very beautiful doll with finest bisque and painting, rare body in outstanding state of preservation and original boutique label.
