Bisque socket head with flat-cut neck socket designed to accommodate torso dowel,round plump face,pale blue inset eyes with darker blue outer rims,delicately-painted lashes,lightly-feathered brows,accented nostrils of tiny nose accented eye corners,closed mouth with accepted lips,pierced ears,blonde mohair wig over original pink plaster pate,Schmitt composition and wooden eight-loose-ball-jointed body with flat-cut derriere and dowel at torso neck for attachment to head. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 0 Bte SGDG (head) Sch (with shield,on bottom of derriere). Comments: Schmitt et Fils,circa 1878,early model by that firm with unique head/body system and depose mark. Value Points: the rarity of the model is rivaled by its beautiful with entrancing eyes,beautiful bisque,rare original pate,original body and body finish,and wearing superb antique costume that is likely original.
