Bisque socket head, brown glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, brushstroked and feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, open mouth, outlined lips, four porcelain teeth, Sonneberg composition and wooden fully-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent, some wig pulls around the crown rim, some body retouch. Marks: S 12 H 719 Dep. Comments: Simon and Halbig, circa 1890. Bisque socket head, blue glass sleep eyes, painted curly lashes, short feathered brows, accented nostrils, open mouth, two upper teeth, tongue, brunette mohair bobbed wig, French composition and wooden fully jointed toddler body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: SFBJ 251 Paris 4 (head) Fabrication SFBJ Paris (body). Comments: SFBJ, circa 1917. Value Points: fine original state of the doll which is presented in her original layered French multi-layered trunk containing three dresses, night shirt, cape, bibs, undergarments, original shoes, and, notably, a sampler with the child owner's name "Marguerite Simon" embroidered in red, alphabet, numbers, and the date 1916-1917.

Each has bisque socket head with shaded brown complexion, painted brown eyes with rich outlining, accented costume, closed mouth, including adult man with darkened unshaven complexion, grim expression, grey mohair wig, composition and wooden ball-jointed body, antique costume, marked D.F./B B3; and girl with brunette mohair wig, composition flapper body with painted shoes and socks, marked DFB (in script) E 4. Excellent condition. Comments: DeFuisseaux, circa 1910, the firm's dolls were heavily influenced by the German art character dolls of the era. Value Points: rare models with exceptional quality of artistic and highly characterized painting.

Mounted upon a heavy paper stock card is a bisque head doll with painted blue eyes and closed mouth, brunette mohair wig, paper mache body, wearing farmer costume and cap, surrounded by a generous assortment of baskets, garden tools, tinware, and wooden wheelbarrow filled with fruits. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: H Masson JC Lorraine No A. L & C Limoges (doll). Comments: the presentation card was offered in Paris Etrennes catalogs, circa 1910. Value Points: fabulous presentation of doll and accessories portraying an important French past time.

Condition: generally excellent. Marks: F (script) 1. Comments: DeFuisseaux, circa 1915. Value Points: very expressive features on the glass-eyed model from the art character movement.

All-latex-composition with swivel head, toddler style torso and limbs, jointing at shoulder and hips, painted facial features which depict a smiling child, brown painted eyes with black upper eyeliner, lightly feathered brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth modeled as though open with wide beaming smile and painted double row of teeth, light brown human hair wig. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Dewees Cochran AA 52 #19. Comments: Dewees Cochran from her studio dolls "look-alike" series, the doll named Helen, circa 1952. Value Points: rare early Dewees Cochran studio doll with signature, wonderful expression, original artist-made costumes and shoes.

Latex composition with socket head, painted facial features, small hazel eyes with fringed upper lashes, closed mouth with shy smile, light brown mohair wig, five-piece body posed slightly bow-legged, jointing at shoulders and hips. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: D.C. PP ‘54 #16. Comments: by the American studio artist Dewees Cochran, the boy is a "Grow-Up" portrait of Peter Ponsett, 1954. Value Points: rare and well-preserved American art doll by the illustrious artist, in original artist-made costume.
