3" (8 cm.) - 4 1/2". Each is all-bisque with sculpted details and costumes, including little seated girl with bright blue bonnet, shy pose, her arms extended onto her lap, with Heubach sunburst mark. Along with pup with brown spotted face leaning on his front haunches, wearing baby cap and bib decorated with blue ribbons. Excellent condition. Germany, Gebruder Heubach, circa 1910.
15" (38 cm.) Bisque socket head, small brown glass sleep eyes, fringed lashes, side-slant brows, closed mouth modeled as though open, shaded lips, brunette mohair braided wig, composition and wooden ball-jointed toddler body with side hip jointing, antique costume. Marks: 36. Generally excellent. Kammer and Reinhardt, the rare glass-eyed version of the premiere model of the art character series, with especially fine modeling of laughter crinkles around the mouth, eyes and chin.
13" (33 cm.) Standing upon drum-shaped platform with wooden feet, lithographed image of young lad courting a girl over a garden fence, and lithographed cover overall, is a bisque-headed doll with silk costume, holding wooden rod, and a paper mache box from which is protruding the paper mache head of Pierrot. When hand wound at the side, the drum beats rat-a-tat-tat, while the little boy moves his arm, tapping Pierrot on the head, and Pierrot pops up and down. Condition: very good, split in drum snare paper on opposite side. Comments: French, circa 1890. Value Points: wonderful and amusing toy with bisque doll and beautiful lithography.
9" (23 cm.) Standing upon a tinplate platform with spoked wheels is a bisque head doll with brilliant cobalt eyes, lushly painted lashes, single-stroke brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth, blonde mohair flowing wig over cork pate, carton torso and lower legs, bisque hands. When wound, the platform glides forward and in circles. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: attributed to Vichy, circa 1865. Value Points: charming toy in very rare petite size, wears original (frail) silk costume with gilt accents.
19" (48 cm.) Bisque socket head with very plump cheeks and chin, brown glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, delicate eyeshadow, brushstroked brows, accented eye corners and nostrils, closed mouth with beautifully-outlined lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden fully-jointed body, beautiful antique costume. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: F. 8 G. Comments: Gaultier, circa 1882, early model with block letter markings. Value Points: very beautiful bebe with delicate bisque and complexion, original body and body finish.
12" (30 cm.) Bisque socket head with flattened solid dome, brown glass inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, brushstroked brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with outlined lips, pierced ears, blonde lambswool wig, Sonneberg composition and wooden fully-jointed body, straight wrists. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 121 4. Comments: Sonneberg, mystery maker, circa 1885, the doll was designed to compete with the popular French bebe. Value Points: very dear little face wearing vintage ivory satin dress with braid and lace trim, lace frou-frou bonnet with silk ribbons.
14" (36 cm.) Bisque socket head with flattened solid dome, brown glass inset eyes, painted curly lashes, brushstroked and feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth, accent center line on pale lips, pierced ears, Sonneberg composition and wooden fully-jointed body, nicely costumed. Condition: generally excellent, light retouch to body. Marks: 177 6. Comments: Sonneberg, circa 1882, mystery maker. Value Points: lovely painting of eye features and lips.
22" (56 cm.) The tall cupboard features an upper double door section with shelved interior and having bracket trim at the ogee-shaped roof, above a three-drawer chest with wooden knobs and dove-tailed construction. The cupboard is of fine walnut and the drawer front and cupboard door panels are a beautiful figured Birdseye maple. American, late 1800s.
11" (28 cm.) Each is one piece, depicting young boy or girl seated on chair, in poses that are imitating their mom or dad, the boy with gold rim spectacles, holding a cigar, and the girl with knitting in hands, their painted eyes demurely posed glancing at each other.
