The osprey, the purple gallinule, the great blue heron and other rare birds populate the Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary of the National Audubon Society nearby Naples, Florida. It is a sanctuary both for the birds that find refuge there, and for the people who visit seeking haven from everyday frenetic life.
So, too, with our dolls we both offer and find sanctuary, preserving these precious treasures for future generations, and, in so doing, finding our own place of serenity. Fittingly, then, Theriault’s returns to Naples, Florida for an important Marquis Auction.
Shown here is a small sampling of the world’s finest antique dolls that are offered on Saturday, highlighted by important dolls from the Toby Kinslow collection. Over 350 rare and fine antique dolls are presented including a very choice collection of French bébés from Bru, Steiner, Schmitt, Jumeau and others, as well as their earlier poupées, many with portrait faces and most with desirable articulated wooden bodies. There are rare German bisque characters, French automata, German handwind toys, dolls with trousseaux, rare Japanese Ichimatsu, curiosities including French toy hotte baskets filled with miniature toys, Thorne room, bathing beauties, The Sewing Companion lady, oil paintings of children with dolls and toys, all-bisque comic characters, rare Kewpies and much more. Absentee bids, telephone bids, and live internet bidding are available if you cannot attend. To order your full-color art quality auction catalog call 800-638-0422 or visit www. theriaults.com.
Coming to the auction is the most fun. Choose the dolls that “speak” to you, and have the fun of bidding and winning in person. Meet new friends. Convene with old friends. Laugh and enjoy, and don’t forget the hot fudge sundaes! But if you absolutely can’t come to the auction, there are other ways to bid. Absentee bid, live telephone bid, and live internet bidding are available and easy to use. Need help choosing the best way for you to bid, or help in getting started? Just give us a call at 800-638-0422 and we’ll help you along.
