The final and perfected version of
Jumeau's "E.J." bebe was his first bebe model
deposed in French courts, and was highly
perfected in its design and painting. This
pressed bisque socket head bebe is an example.
With very large blue glass paperweight inset
eyes, lushly painted dark lashes, widely
brushstroked and feathered brows, accented eye
corners and shaded nostrils, closed mouth with
outlined shaded lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair
wig over cork pate, spiral spring neck
attachment, original composition and wooden fully
jointed body with straight wrists. The doll wears
antique costume comprising long white gown with
exquisite lace and embroidery, undergarments, net
stockings, blue shoes signed Paris Depose 3,
tulle bonnet with silk bows. Signed "Depose E. 3
J" and artist's checkmarks on head, and "Jumeau
Medaille d'Or Paris" on torso. Emile Jumeau,
