Blue Velvet Dress with Aqua Satin Sash and Fancy Bonnet

6" shoulder width. 14" overall length. Of lustrous velvet in a rich teal blue color,the dress is formed of wide box pleats that fall from the neckline and are given shape by the aqua silk sash. The dress is trimmed with loosely-woven cotton lace at the neckline and cuffs of the very full box-pleated sleeves. Included is a stiffened linen bonnet lavishly decorated on the inside brim with ruffled lace and flowers,and on the outside with a lavishly-arranged silk ribbon and a generous floral bouquet. Circa 1880.
