Of fine walnut finish with inlay banding, mother of pearl medallion, and urn shaped ornament at the crest, the clock features a porcelain watch face in a cast bronze mounting that features figurals of cherubs placing a crown on the profile of a person. The clock face is decorated with three oval painted colorful scenes featuring a woman's face and two cottages, and has three dials, for hourly time, for day of the month and for month of the year. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 9 (head) Jumeau Medaille d'Or Paris (body). Comments: Emile Jumeau, circa 1882, their wistful-faced model known as Triste. The doll was featured in the 2016 UFDC Journal in an article written by Lynn Murray, owner of the doll. She wrote of her determination to provide an authentic trousseau for the doll which came to her uncostumed, and in that quest she enlisted the skills of internationally-known doll couturiers, including Patrizia Nicotra, Marshall Martin, Annette Knuppel, and Patrizia Aiello, each of whom contributed one or more costumes for the doll. These costumes remained with the doll, named Martine, when it was acquired by Sandy Kralovetz and are included with her today along with extensive undergarments and signed Jumeau shoes.
