Being one of the most famous child stars of the late 30s, Jane Withers was in a unique position to assemble a doll collection which perfectly exemplified the popular culture of 1930's America. This book shows 200 of the finest dolls of Withers' collection, alongside black-and-white archival photographs of the child Jane Withers playing with her dolls, alongside celebrities like Walt Disney and Shirley Temple. 32" x 63" in wooden frame. A reduced size version
of a portion of the famous Hollywood Walk of
Fame,first created in Hollywood in 1958,was re-
created for a exhibition of the Jane Withers
dolls when they were displayed at The May
Company,a Los Angeles department store,in the
1980̴s. This reduced size version contains the
actual signature of Jane Withers,along with faux-
signatures of other noted stars. The hand prints
are doll-sized and the entire display is sized
for display with a collection of dolls.

body. Wearing yellow flowered cotton blouse
with white organdy ruffled collar,red cotton
skirt,petticoat,pantalets,black laced weskit.
Tag on dress "Babbie,adapted from Little
Minister,Madame Alexander New York". The
doll was inspired by the role of Babbie,played
by Katherine Hepburn in the 1934 RKO film
