The name of the collector is left unsaid, at the request of the family, although it can be said that it is a prominent, and once well-known East Coast collection featured in many early doll research books. In the collection, you will find early paper mache dolls, Bru bébés, French poupées, mignonettes, and early wax dolls. Points: amusing mechanical action occurs when the
doll is pressed down; an internal spring causes
the dollÕs right arm to move up and down,waving
the tricorn hat he holds,as though saluting; the
doll wears his original silk Marquis costume.

by a tightly coiled braid,painted facial

the front and vertical ringlets at the

crown secured by a sculpted tightly coiled
braid,painted facial features with unusual detail
of sculpting of eye sockets,slender
kid ÒmillinerÕs model" style body,wooden arms and
legs,painted green shoes. Condition: very
good,original finish is preserved with some minor
scuffing and splits as typically found,kid waist
and legs reinforced. Comments: Germany,circa
