A 15" heavy card paper fireplace fan with carved ebony handle has a hand-painted garden scene
of a country chateau. The figure of a woman is attached to the background as though she is
walking down the path. On the reverse of the fan is a red paper envelope inscribed "costumes
francais" that contains six exquisite hand-drawn costumes (four with attached millinery) that the
lady can wear as she chooses. Excellent condition excepting neck repair. French,circa 1810.
