All-cloth doll with swivel head, pressed felt face with painted brown side-glancing eyes, painted upper lashes, blushed eyeshadow and cheeks, blonde mohair bobbed wig, stitch-jointing at shoulders and hips. Wearing original white shirt with attached green cotton pants, brown flannel jacket with purple/blue buttons, brown cap with brim, socks and black front-snap shoes with buckle trim. The costume is tagged "Oliver Twist/Madame Alexander NY". Excellent condition. Madame Alexander, 1935; the David Selznick 1935 film "David Copperfield" inspired Madame Alexander to create an entire series of cloth dolls based on Charles Dickens characters.
