Of finely woven plaid in shades of red/cream/green
and black,the gown has a fitted bodice with
lace-edging at the neckline,above a
double-box-pleated skirt and hook and eye closure.
The fan-like sleeves are very full,formed with
cartridge pleats at the shoulders and edged with
black velvet ribbons. Circa 1860.
