Early German Bisque Child, 979, by Simon and Halbig with Original Early Body

21" (53 cm.) Bisque socket head, brown glass sleep eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, brushstroked and feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, slightly-parted outlined lips, two square-cut upper teeth and one lower, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig, early Sonneberg composition and wooden eight-loose-ball-jointed body with straight wrists, antique costume. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 11 979. Comments: Simon and Halbig, circa 1885. Value Points: very fine bisque on the early model, original body in wonderful original condition.
