111 . Very Rare French Doll with Laminated Cloth Body Attributed to the Designs of Brouillet-Cacheleux
20" (51 cm.) x 13" box. 7"l. settee. The wooden dollhouse ensemble is decorated with lithographed paper designed to suggest French gilt inlay ebony furniture, with white painted trim to suggest ivory accents and with mauve silk upholstery. The ensemble comprises nine pieces including a four-drawer chest, settee, secretary, dressing table with mirror, lift-top game table, jardiniere, drop-front desk and two arm chairs, along with accessories which are carved bone mantel clock, brass candle holders, and a wall engraving. The furnishings are still tied inside their original box which has a decorative paper cover and mauve paper interior. Excellent condition, unplayed with. Germany, D.H. Wagner, circa 1880.
