A waxed arrangement of children in a garden setting is depicted in the dimensional vignette, including trees, fence, garden, lambs, little boy with horn, and a little girl wearing a large bonnet, clasping a doll in her arms; the vignette is preserved under its original glass done with marble-finish paper mache base. Excellent condition. Early 1800s.
14" (36 cm.) Bisque socket head, brown glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, brushstroked brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with outlined lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden fully-jointed body with straight wrists. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Depose Jumeau 5 (incised) Jumeau Medaille d'Or Paris (body). Comments: Emile Jumeau, the rare deposed model was made for a few years only, circa 1884, the first era when Jumeau sought to protect the rights to his bebe model. Value Points: rare model with distinctive shy expression achieved by smaller eye cuts, choice bisque and painting, original Jumeau wig, body and body finish, and wearing very fine ivory silk couturier costume, bonnet, undergarments, and ivory kidskin shoes with gilt lettering "Bebe Jumeau Med d'Or Paris Depose" and incised 5.
18" (46 cm.) The mahogany tall-case clock with bombe-shaped lower case, carved claw feet, carved detail of arched crest has enameled clock face in gilded metal surround. The case is actually a hollow box with hidden space behind the clock face, and four single compartment drawers at the back side hidden by sliding door. Excellent condition. Mid-1800s.

Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, heart-shaped elongated face, articulation at the neck allowing the head to tilt side-to-side and forward and backward as well as swivel, almond-shaped cobalt blue glass enamel inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, arched feathered brows, accented nostrils of aquiline nose, closed mouth with primly-smiling lips, pronounced accent line between the lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, all-wooden shapely poupee body with dowel-articulation at the shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, and knees, antique costume. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: E. 2 Depose G.(shoulderplate). Comments: French, circa 1866, an identical portrait model is known with the markings of Dehors who registered his unique neck articulation in 1866. Value Points: rarity of the portrait face is rivaled only by its beauty and fine quality of bisque, complexion and painting, wonderfully-articulated wooden body. Ex-Jane Leader collection.

Four miniature oil paintings on board depicting Austrian landscapes and seascape with exquisite detail, in original frames (two with original labels of framer Josef Hirsch on reverse side), each initialed CH in intertwined scroll. Excellent condition. The Viennese painter (1832-1911) Carl Haunold specialized in landscape painting, particularly small-format size and is particularly noted for the superb rendering of sunlight. A rare quartet in matching early frames, mid-1800s.
16" (41 cm.) h. 10"w. Of fine rosewood with rich burled graining, the toilette table has spiral-shaped delicate legs and towel bars, two toiletry drawers, fitted hole for porcelain washbowl and pitcher (included) and elegantly-shaped oval mirror with hinged brackets. Excellent condition. Mid-1800s.

Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate with deluxe articulation of neck allowing head to tilt side-to-side and forward as well as traditional swivel, bright blue glass enamel inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, delicate mauve eye shadow, lightly-feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with outlined lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, kid poupee body with gusset-jointing at hips, knees and elbows. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: French, circa 1870 with Dehors deposed neck articulation. Value Points: exquisite facial features, original blue silk gown with Alencon lace overlay and lavish extended train, bonnet, undergarments, cream kidskin heeled shoes, earrings. The doll has a blue ribbon UFDC award.

Of aqua silk with fitted waist, 3/4 sleeves, flared flat front, gathered back skirt with slightly-extended train, overlaid with embroidered lace including pleated lace at the bodice, and with aqua silk bows, streamers and collar, with original muslin petticoat having pleated lace-edged ruffle, and with matching wire-framed bonnet. Excellent condition. Circa 1890.
