Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate,blue glass paperweight inset eyes,dark eyeliner,painted lashes and brows,accented nostrils,closed mouth with outlined lips,pierced ears,blonde mohair wig over cork pate,kid poupee body. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Gaultier,circa 1875. Value Points: the doll wears elaborate original fortune-telling ensemble,including brown velvet sorcerer hat,vest and cape decorated with gold medallions,and having original fortune-telling skirt composed of 100s of folded paper leaves with hand-written fortunes in French,mostly concerning the perils and fortunes of love; the grand size of the doll and the enormous number of fortunes is remarkable.

11" (28 cm.) x 9". A boxed game has engraving on the lid depicting a Magician Mouse telling fortunes to a family of mice. The game features a magnetic-bodied mohair mouse under glass,who is directed to one of 12 containers,each of which holds the answer to the question at hand,e.g. will I inherit a fortune? The box features charming illustrations and each of the fortune answers is hand-written. Very good condition,some spotting of box lid. French,circa 1875.
6" (15 cm.) Bisque shoulder head with dark brown glass eyes,painted lashes and brows,closed mouth,blonde mohair wig,muslin body,bisque lower arms and legs,painted elbow-length gloves. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Simon and Halbig,their model 1160,known as "Little Women" doll,circa 1890. Value Points: the doll wears extravagant green silk gown.

Bisque socket head with flattened solid dome,amber tinted complexion,brown glass paperweight inset eyes,dark eyeliner,painted lashes,brown brush-stroked brows with feathered detail,accented nostrils and eye corners,closed mouth with downcast expression,defined space between the accented lips,pierced ears,dark brunette human hair wig,amber-tinted Sonneberg composition and wooden fully-jointed body with straight wrists. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 121 8. Comments: Sonneberg,mystery maker,circa 1885,the doll closely resembles the French Bru bebe model known as "circle/dot". Value Points: very rare model with beautiful complexion and luminous bisque,original body and body finish.

Solid domed bisque socket head with amber tinted complexion,brown glass inset eyes,dark eyeliner,painted lashes,dark feathered brows,accented nostrils,closed mouth with defined space between the accented lips,pierced ears,black mohair wig,Sonneberg composition and wooden amber-tinted fully-jointed body,well costumed. Condition: generally excellent.. Marks: 120 (124?). Comments: Sonneberg,circa 1885,maker unknown,the model closely resembles the circle/dot bebe of Bru. Value Points: very rare model is enhanced by the Asian amber complexion,suggesting the maker was emulating the rare Bru Asian bebe; the quality of modeling and complexion is exceptional.

Each is all-bisque with jointed arms and legs,depicting Chinese people,having amber tinted complexions,painted facial features,the man with sculpted yellow hat and black downcast moustache,good original costume; the other doll with very unusual sculpted hair. Excellent condition. Germany,circa 1900,rare models.
