Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, cobalt blue glass enamel inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, arched brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with outlined lips, ears pierced into head, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, kid poupee body with gusset-jointing at hips and knees, bisque arms to above the elbows. Condition: generally excellent, fine professional restoration of two fingers, body especially sturdy. Marks: (Simonne boutique stamp on front torso). Comments: French, circa 1865, the poupee was presented in the luxury doll store of Simonne on the Rue de Rivoli in Paris, an indication of its illustrious pedigree. Value Points: rare body style, boutique label, most expressive face with dainty piquant smile; included is her original trunk with fitted interior and extensive antique trousseau comprising five various gowns, three bonnets, two pairs of shoes, large number of undergarments, along with various accessories including bone-handled parasol, jewelry and comb and brush set.
