Carved wooden head and torso with oval-shaped face and shapely elongated throat and bosom, high domed forehead, almond-shaped black enamel eyes, feather-shaped brows, all-around fringe lashes, closed mouth with prim lips, blushed cheeks, defined chin, brunette human hair wig over black scallop cap, dowel-jointing at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees, spatula-shaped fingers with separate thumbs, especially-shapely calves and ankles. Condition: generally excellent, original finish, nose tip rub. Comments: English, mid-1700s, an aristocratic lineage is indicated by her luxurious size and details of carving. Value Points: with fulsome grace, the very rare early doll is wearing original costume comprising four layers of undergarments, giving shape to the pannier-shaped skirt, stockings, leather shoes, and elaborate turquoise-beaded jewelry including chatelaine with family seal.
