4" shoulders. 14" relaxed hips. 10" overall length. A beautifully-woven silk/linen dress in a light brown color features jacket-styling with a center panel of red silk; the jacket gains shape from ruching at the collar edge and hips,and there is ruching at the center back neckline falling into three box pleats that are decorated by a wide red silk hip sash. An attached matching skirt completes the dress. The ensemble is decorated with lace. feather-stitching,and bands of grosgrain ribbon. Circa 1884.
