Solid domed bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque torso, brown glass inset eyes, painted lashes and brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth, pale blonde mohair wig, peg-jointed bisque arms and legs, painted blue heeled ankle boots and white socks with blue rims, antique silk costume, undergarments and bonnet. Condition: generally excellent, one tiny flake at torso shoulder. Comments: French, circa 1882. Value Points: especially beautiful face with large eyes and well-painted lips, rare boots, presented in elaborately woven egg-shaped basket with applique silk roses and looped fringe, which is lined in ivory satin and gilt-lettered Maillard, the celebrated 19th century candy-maker.
