Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate with modeled bosom and shoulderblades, very plump cheeks, deep blue glass paperweight inset eyes, thick dark eyeliner, painted dark lashes, mauve blushed eye shadow, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with shaded outlined lips, row of defined teeth between the lips, pierced ears, original blonde lambswool wig over cork pate, French kid bebe body with gusset-jointing at hips and knees, bisque forearms and hands, fine antique embroidered tulle dress and matching jacket, lace bonnet with frou-frou ribbons, antique undergarments, leather shoes. Condition: generally excellent, right baby finger is missing. Marks: Bru Jne 9 (and circle/dot symbol on head). No. 9 Bru Jne (shoulders). Comments: Leon Casimir Bru, circa 1880. Value Points: the grand size of the early model Bru is enhanced by superb modeling, very fine painting of complexion and features, splendid eyes, original body and beautifully-sculpted fingers.
