Bisque socket head, amber brown glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, lushly-painted lashes, brush-stroked and feathered brows, rose-blushed eye shadow, accented nostrils, closed mouth, pierced ears, black mohair wig with queue over cork pate, French composition and wooden fully-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Depose Tete Jumeau Bte SGDG 8 (and artist checkmarks, head) Bebe Jumeau Depose (body). Comments: Jumeau, circa 1888, under commission, a select group of bebes were created and costumed by Jumeau in authentic and elaborate Asian costumes. Value Points: few models are known to exist of the series, this example with gorgeous eyes, fine bisque, original body and body finish, and wearing gorgeous original Asian silk and velvet costume with gilt thread trim, elaborate head-dress with silk and beaded flowers, earrings, necklace, undergarments, socks, and signed Jumeau shoes.
