shaped facial modelling giving a long-faced
expression, large brown glass paperweight inset
eyes, dark eyeliner encircles the eyecut, painted
lashes, mauve blushed eyeshadow, brushstroked and
multi-feathered brows, accented eye corners,
shaded nostrils, closed mouth with modelled space
between the shaded and accented lips, pierced
ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French
composition and wooden eight-loose-ball-jointed
body with straight wrists, separated fingers,
flat-cut derriere, antique costume of aqua and
ivory silk with lace trim, undergarments,
extravagant bonnet, soft kid shoes. Condition:
generally excellent. Marks: Sch (in shield, on
head) 15 (raised numbers on head) Sch (in shield,
on derriere). Comments: Schmitt et Fils, circa
1882. Value Points: outstanding beauty of the
rare early model, her large size emphasizing the
quality of sculpting and artistic facial
painting, original body and body finish.
