French Bisque Character, Model 242, by SFBJ with Unique Construction

12" (30 cm.) Bisque socket head with demi-moon cut slice of the solid domed pate, blue glass inset eyes, painted lashes, one-stroke brows, accented nostrils, pursed lips with center hole for nursing bottle, painted hair, composition bent limb baby body. Condition: restoration low at back neck socket with emanating hairline behind the ear. Marks: SFBJ 242 (head) SFBJ (body). Comments: SFBJ, circa 1912, their variation of the earlier Bebe Teteur, designed with solid dome bisque head designed for separation in order to access interior works. Value Points: rare bisque-pate model, original body, wearing original very lavish baby gown and bonnet.
