16" (40 cm) Pressed bisque socket head, wide almond shaped grey enamel glass inset eyes with prominent spiral threading, dark eyeliner encircles the eyecut, painted lashes, brushstroked and feathered brows, mauve blushed eyeshadow, accented eye corners, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with outlined shaded lips, pierced ears, brunette human hair over cork pate, French composition and wooden eight-loose-ball-jointed body with straight wrists. Condition: generally excellent, knee balls have worn paint. Marks: 1. Comments: Emile Jumeau, circa 1877, the earliest period bebe has stunningly beautiful bisque and painting, original body and body finish.
