French Bisque Poupee with Cobalt Blue Eyes and Original Boutique Label

17" (43 cm.) Bisque shoulderhead with very plump face, cobalt blue glass inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, lightly-feathered brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with center accent line, unpierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, firmly-stuffed kid poupee body with gusset-jointing at hips and knees, bisque lower arms. Condition: generally excellent, body especially sturdy albeit arms are not original. Marks: A La Petite Amazone Maison Delcro Boul'des Italiens 5 Paris (original boutique label on front torso). Comments: French, circa 1865, the poupee was presented in the prestige Parisian doll shop of Clarisse Delcro. Value Points: gorgeous face with dramatic blue eyes, wearing fine early costume in the mode enfantine manner of bronze silk with green velvet banding edged by black lace, blouse, undergarments, leather boots signed C.C., gilt cross.
