French Deposed Model of Smiling Poupee by Bru in Rare Celluloid Variation

15" (38 cm.) Celluloid swivel head on celluloid shoulder plate, blue glass inset eyes, painted lashes and brows, closed mouth with accent line between the smiling lips, unpierced ears, ash-blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French kid poupee body with shapely firmly-stuffed arms and legs, separated fingers. Condition: generally excellent, tiny ding on nose, finger tips worn on left hand. Comments: French, Leon Casimir Bru, circa 1872 when his smiling poupee model was deposed. Value Points: very rare variation of the beloved model, with original body and wearing original woolen costume, undergarments, shoes.
