The light wood box with lithographed paper cover has two shop windows at the front, and unfolds at the sides and top to reveal a well-fitted milliner's shop whose shelves are filled with more than twenty miniature hats, along with various display pieces, and a supply of fabrics, flowers, buttons and trims for decoration of the hats. The original paper label at the back of the shop is from Au Nain Bleu of Paris, the luxury children's doll and toy store. French, circa 1910.
