23" (58 cm.) Bisque socket head, small blue glass sleep eyes, dark eyeliner, painted short curly lashes and brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with defined space between the shaded lips, blonde mohair wig, composition bent limb baby body, antique costume including wonderful brushed flannel coat with long curly mohair fringe. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: K*R Simon & Halbig 119/Baby 62. Comments: Kammer and Reinhardt, circa 1912, a continuation model from the firm's art reform series, the use of the English language word "baby" in the head markings indicates its intention for the American or English market; the scarcity of the model suggests either its failure as a commercial endeavor or its exclusive production for a specific store. Value Points: extremely rare, few examples of this "119/Baby" model are known to exist, this example with finest quality of bisque and sculpting, original body and body finish.
