Bisque socket head, brown glass sleep eyes, painted lashes, brushstroked and feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with accent line between the pale lips, blonde mohair wig over plaster pate, early composition and wooden ball-jointed body with straight wrists, nicely costumed in white cotton dress with lace and smocking, undergarments, brown leather shoes with silver buckles. Condition; generally excellent. Marks: XI. Comments: Kestner, circa 1885. Value Points: most appealing wistful-faced child whose gentle expression is complemented by delicate coloring of bisque, original wig, pate, body, body finish.
