German Bisque Closed Mouth Doll, Model 905, by Simon and Halbig

14" (36 cm.) Solid domed bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, blue glass inset eyes with spiral threading and darker blue outer irises, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, brushstroked brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with center accent line, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig, kid gusset-jointed body, bisque forearms. Condition: generally excellent, one finger tip broken on right hand. Marks: SH 6 905. Comments: Simon and Halbig, circa 1880. Value Points: very beautiful child with compelling expression, fine gleaming complexion, beautiful antique costume.
