15" (38 cm.) Solid-domed bisque head with flanged neck depicting a crying baby with sculpted closed mouth in a wide-open crying expression, with defined tongue, tiniest blue glass bead eyes in squinting manner, deeply-impressed frowning lines all-over face, cloth torso with composition hands, antique costume. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 255 2 O.I.C. Made in Germany. Comments: Kestner, circa 1918. Value Points: rare model whose realistic expression is artistically rendered, and enhanced by reddened facial complexion. The baby is posed in unusual wooden baby chair with wheels, painted designs, lift-off tray and hinged door lifting baby out.
