111 . Very Rare French Doll with Laminated Cloth Body Attributed to the Designs of Brouillet-Cacheleux
17" (43 cm.) Bisque shoulderhead of adult lady with oval face and elongated throat, blonde sculpted hair waved from face and captured in a modeled green snood with purple lustre tassel and feathered boa, painted cobalt blue eyes in half moon shape, all-around lashes, arched brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth, muslin stitch-jointed body with bisque lower arms and legs, painted white stockings and black ankle boots. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Germany, circa 1875. Value Points: especially fine detail of facial painting with expressive portrait like features, fancily-decorated snood.
