Amber tinted bisque socket head portraying Chinese child, black painted hair with stippled detail around the face as well as an original black mohair wig, brown glass sleep eyes in narrow almond shape, painted black lashes and feathered brows, accented nostrils, open mouth, outlined lips, two porcelain teeth, tongue, amber tinted composition baby body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: made in Germany 1.3.k. (body stamp). Comments: Kestner, circa 1912, their 243 model of Chinese baby. Value Points: very rare painted hair variation, presented here with alternate original wig, wearing superb original Chinese silk costume and cap with tassels and fringe, original body and body finish; likely presented as an exhibition model to demonstrate the variation of painted hair or wigged style.
