14 . German Porcelain Half-Doll "Flapper Lady Holding Polichinelle" in Original Pincushion Presentation
10" (25 cm.) overall. 4" to waist. Porcelain waist-up figure of young girl with tousled grey curly hair decorated with a garland of Dresden flowers, with sculpted low-bodice blouse having Dresden corsage, and arms held in front, away from body, with clasped fingers. Attached to original quilted silk pincushion base with silk taffeta overskirt. Excellent condition. Germany, circa 1910, attributed to Dressel, Kister & Co, exceptional detail of finger modeling and variegated flowers; the model was created with four front sew holes (two at bodice, and two at hips) designed to allow an actual bouquet of silk or fresh flowers to be attached as though held in her hands.
