13 . French Brown-Complexioned Bisque Bebe, Size 2, by Leon Casimir Bru with Boutique Label and Signed Bru Shoes
22" (56 cm.) Porcelain shoulderhead with oval slender face, very elongated throat, sculpted shaded-grey hair waved back from face in deeply-defined striations, forming into an extended bun at the back of head, fully sculpted ears, painted blue eyes, red and black upper eyeliner, single-stroke brows, aquiline nose, closed mouth, elongated slender kid body in the French manner, antique costume. Condition: generally excellent, few typical paint rubs at back of bun. Comments: for the French market, circa 1850. Value Points: rare porcelain lady with dramatically-formed and shaded coiffure.
